He studied MD Obstetrics Gynaecology (Gold Medalist) from University of Mumbai. He also studied Master of Sciences in Clinical Embryology and Andrology from Eastern Virginia Medical School, USA. He has also been one of the recipients of the Rashtriya Ekta Award and has been awarded the title of “Best Doctor” from the Indian Medical Association. Also, he won an award for women services in medicine and Jai Hind College Alumni Award.
